Minnesota Licensing Requirements
Under Minnesota state law, anyone who wants to perform permanent makeup or body art must complete:
200 supervised apprenticeship hours
A Temporary Body Art Technician License (issued by the MDH)
A Licensed Supervisor or Trainer to oversee their hours

Program Details
Location: Amplify Brows Plus — Newport, MN
Duration: 200 supervised hours
Tuition: Please message us for pricing, as rates differ for Amplify Brows Plus students and non-students.
Program Length: Students may choose a 3-month or 4-month program option to complete their 200-hour requirement. If additional time is needed beyond the selected time frame, students may continue their apprenticeship at an additional cost.
Schedule: Apprentices can complete their hours on days arranged with their supervisor. The schedule is generally flexible and based on the supervisor’s availability.
Please note: The Minnesota Temporary Body Art Technician License application fee is not included in tuition and must be paid separately by the student.

Note: Hands-on mentorship is reserved for Amplify Brows Plus students, as all artists have different techniques and methods. For apprentices trained elsewhere, guidance and supervision will still be provided; however, instruction will focus on safety, correction, and licensing requirements rather than individual technique training.
Important Licensing Note
Students may not perform tattooing or pigment application on models until they have obtained a valid temporary body art technician license issued by the Minnesota Department of Health. Before that point, students are allowed to participate in brow mapping and non-invasive demonstrations under supervision.
