Pre-care/Aftercare
Pre-Care instructions
To achieve the best possible results and ensure proper healing, please carefully follow the pre-appointment guidelines below. Failure to do so may affect pigment retention and overall results.
1. Health Conditions
Please notify me immediately if you have any medical conditions, allergies, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Your safety is my priority.
2. Skin Preparation
Do not apply moisturizer, lotion, oil, or any active skincare ingredients (such as AHAs, BHAs, retinol, etc.) to your forehead or eyebrows for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Avoid exfoliating the brow area within 48 hours of your appointment.
3. Alcohol & Caffeine
Avoid consuming alcohol and caffeine (including coffee, green tea, energy drinks, etc.) for 48 hours before your appointment. These substances can thin the blood, increase sensitivity, and affect pigment retention.
4. Medications
Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, niacin, or any blood-thinning medications for 48 hours prior to your procedure.
⚠️ Always consult your physician before stopping any prescribed medications.
5. Brows & Cosmetic Treatments
Avoid brow tinting for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Do not wax, thread, or undergo laser treatments on or near the brow area for 2 weeks prior.
Avoid Botox or fillers in the forehead area for 2–4 weeks before and after your appointment.
6. Sun Exposure & Skincare Treatments
Refrain from sunbathing, tanning beds, or prolonged sun exposure for at least 1 week prior to your appointment.
Avoid facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or other intensive skin treatments for 1 week before your session.
After care Instructions:
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE
-Slight redness and/or discomfort may be present for the first two days. This will resolve itself.
-Keep the brows as dry for the first 3 days
-DO NOT apply any other kind of creams, ointments, liquids, cleansers, oils for 3 days
-The day after your procedure, the color will appear darker as it begins healing.
-DO NOT pick, scratch, or peel off any skin, as this will pull pigment out.
-Once flaking is complete, there will still be a nearly invisible layer of skin that will make your color appear faded. Within the first two weeks after flaking, you will notice some of the color coming back through as the skin continues to repair itself.
-After your 6-8 week healing period, you can come back at any time to get your touch-up if desired.
-Once fully healed, use proper SPF for sun exposure, and avoid any harsh chemicals or abrasive treatments to the brow area.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS AFTER TREATMENT
-Use a fresh pillow case, and do not sleep on your face or eyebrows!
-Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring and will cause loss of color. Your flakes will gently fall off by themselves when they are ready to!
-No facials, Botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after treatment
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for at least one week. You can lightly exercise, but nothing that will cause overexertion or extreme sweating whatsoever. There will be a bigger risk of infection during the first 3-4 days.
-Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. And once fully healed, be sure to protect your eyebrow with SPF. Any prolonged sun exposure will cause premature fading.
-Avoid swimming, or any kind, until your eyebrows have completely healed!
-Avoid applying any type of makeup to your brow area until fully peeled
-Keep your hands off the brow area. No picking or scratching the treated area.
-DO NOT USE growth enhancement products one month prior to and after treatment has fully healed, as it may shift your color.
-Smoking WILL cause the pigment to fade prematurely, and anesthetics will not last as long.
Early signs of infections:
-Odor coming from your eyebrows
-Discharge that may be greenish/brownish in color
-Tenderness when touching (Please avoid touching your brows after the procedure)
-Redness around the procedure site
-Consult a healthcare professional upon indication of infection of the skin or tissue.
